Pam Souders

I admire the works of the Post-Impressionists, Fauves and Expressionists for the variations of color and texture and within each painting and how wonderfully it all comes together to create a mood of excitement or calmness or joy.  In my own work, I use color and texture to convey emotion.  My paintings are constantly changing as I never allow the composition to dictate the outcome, using it as a starting point, and letting the painting decide what it is to become.   Painting with a palette knife allows me to achieve any texture or smooth area that I choose.
